Joining knit to purl
If you are joining a seam that has the right
side of stocking stitch on one side, and the purl side on the other,
match the bars of the purl stitch, one stitch in from the edge, to
the corresponding connecting thread between the first and second
stitch from the edge of the stocking stitch piece [pic 12,13,14,15].
12: (left) Position of first stitch when joining knit
to purl.
13: (right) The second stitch.
14: Seam progresses as consecutive stitches are joined
from alternate sides.
15: A well matched seam is invisible.
